About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute terrestrial laser scanning and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) scan deployments at active construction sites
Develop site documentation protocols covering existing conditions, construction progress, and quality assurance data
Collaborate with project teams on scan planning strategies aligned with project phases and deliverables
Process raw scan data into registration-accurate point clouds and polygonal meshes using ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Register 360, 3DR, and related platforms
Implement data management protocols including folder hierarchies, file naming conventions, and metadata documentation
Generate technical reports, visualizations, and BIM-integrated deliverables
Coordinate with VDC teams to integrate reality capture data into clash detection and model verification workflows
Conduct quality control reviews to ensure scan coverage completeness and geometric accuracy
Participate in weekly knowledge-sharing sessions, continuous improvement initiatives, and post-project reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–6 years of demonstrated experience in construction, land surveying, geospatial technology, or reality capture operations; internship experience considered
Extensive knowledge of laser scanning, LiDAR, and photogrammetry principles and applications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fundamental data management practices
Ability to navigate active construction environments safely and work independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation capabilities
Willingness to travel 50%–75% to local and national job sites depending on project assignments
Experience with Digital Twin concepts and workflows preferred
Familiarity with NVIDIA Omniverse or similar real-time 3D collaboration platforms is a plus
Hands-on experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, or comparable point cloud processing software preferred
Understanding of coordinate reference systems, geodetic datums, and fundamental surveying principles preferred
Experience using 3D Gaussian Splatting technology preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Geomatics, or related technical discipline preferred
