About the role

  • Develop and execute client benefit strategies; advise clients on all areas of compliance
  • Assist in preparing requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverage
  • Provide client utilization and monthly financial reporting to clients with analysis of activity and large claim detail
  • Partner with Producers to lead client meetings and presentations, and onboard new clients
  • Provide guidance and training to Account Managers and Client Care Specialists
  • Delegate tasks, training, and onboarding as appropriate
  • Participate in market meetings, client functions, industry seminars and training programs as directed
  • Maintain knowledge of benchmarking, reporting & analytics, compliance, and regulations in the benefits arena
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects
  • Define and execute strategies to maintain ACA compliance and expanded benefit consulting services for clients
  • Develop annual planning calendar for book of business
  • Partner with Benefit Carriers to develop strategies and services to drive participant goals and ensure compliance with overall plan guideline and regulations
  • Provide direction on client messaging strategy and media, and review client employee benefits related communications content
  • Assist clients with inbound support related to short & long term benefits investment strategy, plan design, rates, and open enrollment tools
  • Actively participate in client strategy discussions and provide strategic analysis and consulting expertise for clients’ benefit programs
  • Manage client benefits program implementation and the annual client benefits renewal process
  • Act as a team lead to mentor and assist in the development of junior cohort members
  • Manage and facilitate client escalations for your clients and your cohort’s clients
  • Participate in and assist in oversite of compliance (1094/1095, PCORI, etc.), wellness and DOL audits for assigned clients

Requirements

  • Five plus years of experience working in carrier or broker related environment – specifically in the labor and union space
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple clients
  • Detail oriented, resourceful – strong decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication – communication written up after every renewal meeting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and client service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to participate both as a team member and as a team leader
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management skills necessary to successfully plan, manage and execute deliverables
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prefer candidate to reside in RI or MA.
