About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a portfolio of strategy projects end-to-end, including scoping, workplan development, staffing workstreams, problem-solving, solutioning, material development, client relationship building, influencing leadership direction, and presenting results to executive leadership
  • Develop and grow a small team of strategists through performance management and mentorship
  • Improve team processes and create actionable improvement plans
  • Support general office management to ensure team effectiveness and satisfaction
  • Participate in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control day-to-day department operations
  • Develop and implement policies and programs as necessary
  • Work with business and market owners to identify key issues, apply analytical frameworks, develop solutions and recommendations, represent findings to stakeholders, and own outcomes
  • Manage major strategy projects with internal or external strategy consulting resources
  • Support development of the Enterprise Focus 5 strategy portfolio and cross-enterprise strategies
  • Collaborate with senior executives, stakeholders, STO VPs, and EVP on enterprise strategic initiatives and direction
  • Comply with HIPAA, privacy, information security, code of business conduct, and applicable laws and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Economics, or related discipline, or relevant experience and/or education determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Master's Degree in Business or Public Health or an MD preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in a management or leadership role
  • At least 3 years of experience as a consultant/client-facing member of a services business, or 4 years of strategy experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, preferably inside a health or hospital system or health plan
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry
  • Ability to solve complex conceptual and operational problems and lead teams in problem-solving exercises
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Client relationship, influencing, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional, cross-BU teams in complex problem-solving exercises
  • Basic project management skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a servant leadership mindset
  • Commitment to self-development and development of others
  • No required licenses or certifications
  • No language other than English required
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA, privacy, information security, code of business conduct, applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and training requirements
  • Physical work site required; ability to lift up to 10 pounds constantly, 10 to 25 pounds occasionally, and 25 to 50 pounds rarely
