About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide a caseload of students and families through the HelloCollege program
  • Ensure students complete the program and achieve their college planning goals
  • Manage up to 50 students according to the HelloCollege program blueprint and service-level agreements
  • Provide recommendations on admissions strategies based on curricula, extracurriculars, leadership choices, summer programs, and standardized test planning
  • Conduct formal consulting sessions with students bi-monthly and share notes and action items with stakeholders
  • Build positive, lasting relationships with families
  • Maintain communication with students and families outside formal sessions
  • Track communications and milestones in the HelloCollege portal
  • Facilitate up to four online workshops per month
  • Maintain knowledge of higher education and college planning trends
  • Participate in team meetings, knowledge sharing, shadowing, and mentoring
  • Contribute to referrals, testimonials, consultations, online reviews, company culture, and growth
  • Perform additional duties such as blog posts and research projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Part-time availability averaging 25–30 hours per week when caseload is full
  • Master’s degree or College Counseling certification highly recommended
  • Experience with highly selective and Ivy League college counseling, college admissions, school counseling, or student advising is required
  • Experience helping students gain admission to Top 25 and Top 50 universities is required
  • Ability to support affluent, high-achieving clientele
  • Extensive knowledge of selective and highly selective US colleges and universities nationwide
  • Ability to work with students and parents from diverse academic, ethnic/racial, and financial backgrounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong case management, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Willingness to perform additional duties such as blog posts and research projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs and systems
  • Public speaking and event facilitation experience is a plus
  • Must be available for evening work between 3pm–9pm PST
  • Must work 1–2 Saturdays per month during application season (August–November)
  • Applicants in MST or PST time zones are preferred
  • Experience working with students with learning differences
