About the role
- Counseling people with communication impairments and their caregivers and significant others
- Independently coordinating observation visits (hospitations), counseling appointments, interdisciplinary case conferences, and support sessions
- Conducting diagnostic assessments of communicative development needs; advising on individually appropriate support services and communication methods; and providing didactic guidance for integrating these into clients’ daily lives
- Assisting clients with contacting assistive device providers and applying for cost coverage of aids; preparing the necessary reports and statements
- Preparing digitally supported reports for payers to ensure reimbursement of provided services
Requirements
- Completed therapeutic or educational qualification (e.g., occupational therapist, speech and language therapist/speech-language pathologist, special education teacher, or curative-education care professional)
- Ideally an additional qualification in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), e.g., LUK certificate, AAC coach, AAC specialist or similar, plus theoretical knowledge and practical experience in AAC
- Willingness to work flexibly across the region at varying locations and times
- Strong self-organization skills and the ability to work independently in an outpatient/home-visit setting
- Enjoys working independently as well as collaborating in a team
- Empathetic and reliable manner with a clear focus on the needs of service users/clients
- Valid driving license (category B) and own vehicle required
