About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the mine while ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive occupational health and safety plan
- Coordinating with technical services such as engineering, geology, and operations teams
- Supporting the overall business strategy by playing a critical role in fostering a productive and motivated workforce
- Driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or equivalent in mine engineering, geology, geological engineering or related field
- Eight or more years of related experience and/or training, in a supervisory capacity
- Prior supervisory experience and MSHA instructor certification required
- Ability to obtain ATF Possessor's Clearance
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Pass a position-specific physical demands assessment
