About the role
- Provide independent credit assurance across the Group
- Conduct hindsight reviews of credit applications and settled files across all business units.
- Evaluate credit decisions against Risk appetite, Group policies, and Commercial
- Perform reviews on adherence to approval processes and delegated authorities
- Execute the credit assurance program, including sector and portfolio reviews.
- Produce high-quality insights and review findings for stakeholders
- Collaborate with business and risk functions to support sound risk management practices.
- Recommend and implement process improvements based on findings
Requirements
- Strong credit risk expertise, including credit assessment and policy knowledge.
- Experience in a similar role, such as credit review, credit risk, or Line 2 function preferably in Banking & Finance
- Understand relevant regulations (e.g., Consumer Credit Code, Code of Banking Practice).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality written reports and insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Business are highly regarded.
- 3 years’ experience working for a bank or finance company preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the rural and retail sector preferred.
