About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Works collaboratively with editors, reporters, photographers and other audience team members to ensure our journalism engages, retains and converts local readers into subscribers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong editorial judgment with experience in a deadline-driven news environment
  • Ability to optimize stories for site, social, newsletters and search
  • Experience editing short and mid-form video, photos and audio in tools like Canva, Photoshop or Premiere
  • Quick, organized, technical problem solver who is able to consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule for breaking news and special content opportunities, including nights and weekends
