About the role
- Envision and define personalized content experiences tailored to reader interests, intent, and context
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, editorial stakeholders, and audience development managers to define and execute a product roadmap
- Drive product strategy and roadmap for personalization capabilities including recommendation systems, dynamic content surfacing, and segmentation
- Proactively identify and address challenges and bottlenecks; manage escalations and make informed trade-offs
- Synthesize insights from reader feedback, analytics, A/B testing, market trends, and stakeholder requirements to develop product strategies and specifications
- Communicate product vision, goals, requirements, roadmaps, and timelines to cross-functional teams, including remote and distributed members
- Influence stakeholders and demonstrate leadership, negotiation, and sound judgment
- Champion a data-driven, user-centric approach to product development with continuous testing and iteration
Requirements
- 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience in technical product management
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Preferred: Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Preferred: Master's degree or MBA
- Preferred: Experience in the media, publishing, or content-driven digital products space
- Proven ability to work with data scientists and understand machine learning concepts to drive personalization
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and data analytics tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
