About the role

  • Reports to: Director of Content Strategy; Brands: Country Living and The Pioneer Woman
  • Lead and execute the SEO strategy for both brands, focusing on growing high-value engagement and conversion (e.g., affiliate commerce, newsletter signups, memberships).
  • Collaborate with editorial leaders to develop and refine daily, weekly, and monthly content plans that generate meaningful engagement across site, newsletters, and social/video platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and real-time news to identify timely and relevant content opportunities backed by audience insights.
  • Translate performance data into clear, actionable strategies across commerce, subscriptions, and audience development.
  • Use tools like Google Analytics, Looker, SEMrush, SimilarWeb to assess performance, identify gaps, and develop testable experiments.
  • Facilitate ongoing SEO and content strategy training across teams and act as an internal ambassador for best practices.
  • Lead regular cross-functional meetings to share insights, track experiments, and celebrate wins with editors and leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholders across affiliate commerce, ad sales, product, engineering, and marketing to support new initiatives and refine existing strategies.
  • Location: NYC office at least 3 days a week; no remote option.
  • Compensation: Base salary $74,000 - $89,000.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in content strategy, with a focus on both technical and editorial SEO
  • Proficiency with SEO tools and analytics platforms, including Google Discover, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush
  • Comfortable working with data and turning insights into content strategies
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and inclusive mindset
  • A growth-oriented approach and a curiosity about digital audience behaviors
  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms for content optimization (nice-to-have)
  • Knowledge of affiliate commerce and/or membership strategy (nice-to-have)
  • Coding experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript) (nice-to-have)
  • Personal interest in food, home, or lifestyle content (nice-to-have)
