About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the creative vision and identity for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen video
- Develop and pitch original video franchises and shareable formats across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, on-site, and other platforms
- Produce and direct video content from concept through distribution
- Develop pre-production materials and direct celebrity talent on set
- Guide post-production across story, pacing, graphics, music, and color
- Write loglines, treatments, beat sheets, shot lists, scripts, and pilots
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, sales, production management, social teams, and other partners
- Develop branded opportunities while preserving editorial voice
- Manage productions, programming workflows, Airtable tracking, freelancer hiring, budgets, deadlines, and resources
- Oversee and mentor producers and associate producers
- Report to the Director of Video
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in creative video production, ideally with digital-first and celebrity-driven content, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop and produce internet-forward, highly engaging video across multiple platforms and formats
- Experience directing and collaborating with high-profile or A-list talent on set
- Strong creative instincts and a keen eye for visual storytelling
- Deep understanding of the production process, including show development, treatments, pilots, shoots, and post-production
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines in a fast-moving production environment
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Experience creating branded content is preferred/a plus
- Based in New York City and able to work in the office four days per week
