About the role

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student emotional, behavioral, and educational needs.
  • Provide targeted mental health interventions designed to address and mitigate emotional and behavioral challenges impacting student educational performance and social functioning.
  • Act as a liaison between students, families, and school personnel, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Implement and monitor positive reinforcement strategies to support age-appropriate and adaptive behaviors.
  • Facilitate social skills groups and individual interventions to enhance student interpersonal and coping skills.
  • Engage actively in crisis management and stabilization, providing immediate interventions and coordination with crisis resources when necessary.
  • Advocate for students and families, providing outreach and support in accessing community resources and natural support systems.
  • Follow and coordinate treatment plans created by licensed therapists, collaborating with students, families, school personnel, and external providers.
  • Accurately document all student interventions, progress notes, and billing information promptly and thoroughly within TBMHC’s electronic health record system.
  • Regularly communicate with families, ensuring ongoing family engagement through weekly contacts, participation in family events, and summer camp activities.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, CARF, OhioMHAS, and relevant Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) regulations.
  • Participate consistently in weekly supervision meetings, monthly professional development sessions, and required summer training programs.
  • Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate student files.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or program directors.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience (paid or volunteer) providing direct care or behavioral support services to children and adolescents required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Successful completion of comprehensive background checks.
  • Submission of a Driver’s Abstract indicating a clean driving record.
  • Proof of current automobile insurance.
