About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own key balance sheet accounts, such as accruals, for monthly, quarterly, and annual close
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by accounting staff
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for key accruals and other accounts
Manage payment streams for healthcare providers, healthcare members, and vendors
Lead balance sheet reconciliation processes and resolve reconciling items
Manage intercompany accounting activities and reconcile and eliminate balances
Establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; review work and provide coaching and performance feedback
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, HIPAA requirements, and applicable federal, state, local, and Puerto Rico regulations
Monitor ERP system integrity and support process automation and continuous improvement initiatives
Support strategic projects, system implementations, and other finance initiatives as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA in Accounting required
CPA preferred
Minimum 5–8 years of experience, including work in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments
Knowledge of ERP and other accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics preferred
Demonstrated ownership of the month-end close process, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel with pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS
Healthcare company experience preferred
Ability to multitask and manipulate large amounts of data
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent problem identification and resolution skills, with a focus on root causes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High integrity, positive can-do attitude, and strong work ethic
Ability to comply with GAAP, company policies, HIPAA requirements, and applicable federal, state, local, and Puerto Rico regulations
