About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients
  • Handle patient intake and discharge processes
  • Assist in the vein clinic after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training
  • Serve as Case Manager for assigned patients when assigned
  • Perform initial nursing assessments and communicate findings to physicians
  • Assess wound stages and measurements
  • Document care plans and evaluate patient status against desired outcomes
  • Identify patient-care situations requiring intervention
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives
  • Educate patients or caregivers and advocate for patients
  • Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after completing required training
  • Perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required training
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and Medical Director
  • Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) when required
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current RN license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Medical Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care Certification preferred
  • Wound care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Customer service and follow-up skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Teaching skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking team environment
  • Ability to stay calm in all situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
  • Ability to meet stated physical demands, including lifting/moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance
  • Ability to work in the stated patient-care and hazardous environment
