Lead and grow the Web Platform engineering team through people development and strategic planning
Partner closely with Engineering Leadership, Product, and Design
Define the team's roadmap
Build a clear, well-supported case for platform investment across the organization
Ensure the team's work directly enables Headway's product and business goals
Translate platform investments into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
Build alignment across multiple product teams and drive a shared roadmap forward
Create organizational visibility through documentation, metrics, and stakeholder engagement
Keep platform and product roadmaps in sync
Conduct behavioral and technical interviews as part of the hiring process

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
Depth in modern frontend and web technologies
Experience leading platform, infrastructure, or developer experience teams
Understanding of how to advocate for foundational work in a product-outcomes-driven organization
Strong strategic communication skills
Ability to translate platform investments into business value for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
Track record of building alignment across multiple product teams
Ability to navigate competing priorities and drive a shared roadmap
Ability to create organizational visibility through documentation, metrics, and stakeholder engagement
Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships with Design and Product
