About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You take on the functional (and optionally disciplinary) leadership of a digital marketing team and work directly with executive management.
  • At the same time, you advise clients on an equal footing in developing and implementing modern marketing and growth strategies across all relevant digital channels.
  • You are neither a pure strategist nor purely operational — you combine both.
  • You identify the key levers in digital marketing, develop robust strategies from them, and ensure these strategies are successfully implemented.
  • You analyze business models, marketing setups, and growth levers. You develop strategies that contribute to company objectives.
  • You stay close to hands-on practice.
  • You understand the mechanics of modern digital campaigns and can, if needed, step in operationally yourself.
  • You understand the connection between marketing and business success and can clearly present this to executives and decision-makers.
  • You take responsibility for a team of approximately four to six marketing specialists at the Hamburg office.
  • You use modern AI tools for analysis, research, content creation, efficiency improvements, and new ways of working.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in digital marketing
  • Experience in a digital marketing agency, digital consultancy, e-commerce, or a similar environment
  • Proven success in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing, customer journeys, and funnel logic
  • Ability to translate marketing into measurable business results
  • Hands-on experience with relevant marketing platforms and campaign systems (Meta, Google, LinkedIn ...)
  • Experience in functional leadership of employees (disciplinary leadership experience is optional)
  • Strong interest in AI and modern technologies
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
