Supervise a team of staff accountants to ensure quality and timely work product by clearing roadblocks, setting deadlines, managing capacity, and providing training and guidance.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the accounting framework by reviewing the work of staff accountants and providing individualized feedback and review notes for the team's betterment.
Create, review, and deliver quality and timely financial statements, including dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting to clients while building and maintaining a strong client relationship.
Confidently and comfortably consult with clients regularly via video conference, phone call, or email and, when needed, resolve concerns.
Become a trusted advisor to our clients regarding best accounting practices and process building, and offer other firm services that could help them achieve their goals as needed.
Provide other services to clients, including holding weekly or monthly oversight calls and providing ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
Lead efficient client onboarding utilizing project management tracking to ensure a smooth and satisfactory client experience.
Within our firm, help identify areas for opportunity and implement positive solutions utilizing collaboration, technology, and automations to create a more efficient and effective work environment.
At year-end, provide a seamless and clean hand-off of client books to our tax team for tax return preparation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 2-3 years senior-level review experience, preferably with real estate and small business clients
Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with a team of staff accountants to produce quality deliverables and drive company culture and expectations
Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, Yardi, and other property management software
Knowledge of entity types, entity structuring, and entity transactions
High level of technical ability with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Proven track record of successfully working directly with clients, managing client relationships, and ensuring engagement objectives are met accurately and on time
Effective written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Public accounting experience preferred.
CPA not required, but will be compensated according to credentials and experience
