About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, implementation, ongoing management and continuous development of the MEA corporate tax strategy
- Ensure Haleon operates in a manner which is consistent with both the Group Tax Strategy and local fiscal requirements
- Ensure interactions with external stakeholders are handled in a manner consistent with the group’s Global Tax Strategy
- Focus on delivering tax optimization and tax risk mitigation opportunities across the region
- Effective business partner to ensure that tax supports the business objectives
- Collaborate with the Head of Tax Reporting to deliver accurate and timely tax numbers for Group reporting
- Identify ways to strengthen tax compliance processes
- Drive the strategic direction of external tax audits
- Build open and transparent relationships with the relevant authorities across the different territories
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified lawyer or accountant
- 12+ years of broad proven experience with direct taxes across MEA in both large accounting firms and multinational corporations
- Fluent in English
- Broad understanding of corporate taxes across MEA, and experience leading relationships with tax authorities across MEA
- Strong knowledge of international tax principles and transfer pricing frameworks (including OECD guidance)
- Excellent inter-personal skills - demonstrating experience of building strong business relationships with key senior stakeholders
- Advanced negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills, with strong executive presence
- Ability to solve complex problems independently
- Proven capability to deliver management insight, simplify complexity, and clearly articulate tax concepts to senior stakeholders and non-tax business partners
- Focus on challenging the status quo and ability to lead and drive transformational change
- Demonstrated finance partnering capability
