About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary driver of the company’s legislative and regulatory strategy within the California State Capitol
  • Develop and implement a California-focused government affairs plan
  • Monitor, research, and evaluate California state legislative proposals impacting the company's operations
  • Advocate for the company's positions before the California Legislature and relevant agencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in state government affairs, lobbying, public policy, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes and procedures in California
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective state government affairs strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with state policymakers and trade associations
  • Ability to travel frequently within the Western States region
