About the role
- You build stable, scalable data platforms.
- Work in a consulting environment on new, exciting data projects.
- Designing, building and operating modern data platforms in AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Automating infrastructure with Terraform.
- Development and operation of lakehouse and data warehouse architectures.
- Integration and operation of streaming architectures, e.g., with Kafka.
- Responsibility for CI/CD, monitoring, testing and observability for data platforms.
- Optimizing performance and cost of data-intensive systems.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role — ideally in consulting or project-based environments.
- Excellent SQL skills and solid experience in data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling, Data Vault, normalization & denormalization).
- Knowledge of streaming architectures, e.g., Kafka, and proven experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks and/or Snowflake, as well as dbt and Airflow or comparable orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of data architectures, particularly lakehouse and data warehouse approaches.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based data platforms in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Infrastructure automation, ideally with Terraform.
- Practical experience in CI/CD, monitoring, testing and observability in the context of data platforms.
- Experience with Spark / PySpark, Python, or Trino / Presto is an advantage but not a must.
- Enthusiasm for team development and willingness to engage in knowledge transfer, mentoring, or professional exchange.
- Analytical and architectural thinking, a self-organized working style and readiness to take responsibility in complex client projects.
