About the role

  • Lead all sales efforts, including new business sales and expanding existing customers.
  • Captain large, transformational data deals for Astra and partner closely with leadership to shape the business line.
  • Pioneer the playbook for growth, staying ahead of trends in AI and the developer ecosystem.
  • Partner with leadership to shape the go-to-market strategy for Astra, including pricing, positioning, and commercial models to build a scalable, recurring-revenue stream.
  • Partner with product and engineering to launch new data offerings.
  • Shape the trajectory of a business line from the ground up and work cross-functionally to deliver curated datasets and annotation services.

Requirements

  • Onsite in Santa Clara, five days a week (applicants should apply only if this aligns).
  • Entrepreneurial and high-agency; thrive in zero-to-one environments and able to create decks, 1-pagers, and processes.
  • Strong presenter who makes technical and business concepts clear to any audience.
  • Fluent in AI model development; able to discuss concepts like SFT, RLHF, and data’s role in training.
  • High intellectual horsepower; quick to grasp complex ideas and adapt in fast-moving markets while building lasting relationships.
  • Experience in data, API, or platform sales, with exposure to AI labs, foundation model teams, or enterprise AI leaders (preferred).
  • A strong AI network and genuine curiosity about what’s next in model training and data (preferred).
