About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct environmental site assessments, remediation, and reclamation activities
  • Perform environmental monitoring and inspections
  • Prepare Acknowledgement of Reclamation (AOR) submissions
  • Assist senior team members with data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Prepare field reports and scientific documentation
  • Support the preparation and filing of environmental permit applications
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders as directed by senior staff
  • Maintain accurate records of field activities and observations
  • Support technical reports, data interpretation, and site assessments
  • Work under senior professionals’ guidance to ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or diploma in environmental science, biology, agrology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting or fieldwork; internships or volunteer experience welcome
  • Strong interest in field-based work and hands-on environmental assessments
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging field conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document and report field observations
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations in Alberta and Saskatchewan is an asset, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn from senior team members
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently when required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of field equipment
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive manual tasks
  • Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain while carrying gear
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to drive long distances and travel frequently to remote sites
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as required by projects
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, for extended periods
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended hours
  • Understanding of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan environmental regulations
  • Understanding of the oil and gas market and regulatory framework
