About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide customer service to plan members and/or providers by answering benefit questions, researching and resolving issues and inquiries, and explaining the Company’s products and services
  • Act as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors, patients, and referral sources
  • Initiate and manage clinical referrals for members
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations when needed
  • Enter referrals and document communications, actions, and other data in departmental systems
  • Determine contract and benefit eligibility
  • Provide authorization for inpatient admission, outpatient certification, and/or prior authorization requests
  • Refer cases requiring clinical review to appropriate clinical professionals
  • Provide guidance and expertise to less experienced Service Advocates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • Travel to and from corporate or regional offices may be required
