About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the accounting function, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for GuideWell.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to provide accurate, timely, and actionable financial information.
- Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and related functions.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and issued on time.
- Maintain documented accounting policies, procedures, and controls that support compliance and consistency.
- Coordinate external and regulatory audits and related documentation requests to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare reports and filings required by governmental, regulatory, and statutory agencies.
- Support system improvements and workflow enhancements across accounting operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years related work experience.
- Progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit coordination.
- Demonstrated experience across multiple accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger.
- 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience.
- Related Bachelor's degree required in Accounting.
- CPA - Certified Public Accountant.
- 3+ years of statutory accounting experience.
- Experience leading accounting staff and coordinating work across finance, operations, and administrative teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and team performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coaching, developing, and evaluating team members.
