About the role
- Delivery Acceleration and CI/CD: Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for all products.
- Create service templates (scaffolding) with observability, security, and CI/CD by default.
- Establish automated quality gates (tests, SAST/DAST, dependency analysis).
- Implement deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, automatic rollback).
- Configure and track DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR).
- Optimize pipeline runtime (smart caching, parallelization, efficient builds).
- Enable engineering teams to adopt standards (office hours, pairing, documentation).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Provisioning: Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules.
- Implement self-service provisioning (scripts, CLI, portals).
- Automate environment configuration (dev, staging, prod) following corporate standards.
- Ensure consistency across environments via versioned and tested IaC.
- Implement security-by-default policies (IAM, secrets management, network policies).
- Integrate observability by default into infrastructure and applications.
- Enablement and Technical Leadership: Lead weekly office hours for technical support.
- Document standards, templates, and processes clearly and consumably.
- Pair with developers to implement pipelines and automations.
- Collect feedback and propose continuous improvements.
- Present results in monthly reviews and all-hands meetings.
Requirements
- CI/CD: Strong experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- IaC: Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar tools.
- Cloud: Solid experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
- Containers: Docker and Kubernetes (deployments, services, ingress, Helm).
- Automation: Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and tooling.
- Git: Advanced workflows (branching strategies, PRs, code review).
- Quality gates: SAST/DAST, dependency analysis, and automated testing.
- Preferred / Additional Experience (Nice-to-haves): Experience with Backstage, Port, or Humanitec.
- CI/CD integration with Datadog (Deployment Tracking, DORA metrics).
- Practical implementation of DORA metrics.
- Blue-green, canary, feature flags, and progressive delivery.
- Integrating observability into pipelines.
- DevSecOps and shift-left security practices.
- Advanced pipeline optimization (caching, parallelization).
- Building self-service developer tools.
- Behavioral Competencies (Critical): End-to-end ownership and accountability.
- Consistent presence and proactive communication.
- Pragmatism and focus on incremental deliveries.
- Clear communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
