About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop empowering classroom environments with high expectations for student growth and achievement
- Attend to students’ health and wellness needs
- Plan, organize, and implement standards-aligned lessons, activities, and assessments
- Implement adopted Grow Public Schools Units of Study and high-quality instructional materials
- Prepare integrated lessons based on state standards
- Differentiate instruction for English Language Learners and students with IEPs
- Participate in weekly instructional coaching activities and execute next steps
- Provide experiential learning through Edible Schoolyard curriculum and project-based learning
- Establish a classroom environment reflecting school core values and a college-going culture
- Collaborate with education specialists, learning lab staff, and Small Group Instructors to implement Individualized Learning Plans
- Integrate online learning platforms based on student need
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate standards-based grading records
- Communicate frequently with students, families, colleagues, and school leaders
- Provide timely feedback on student learning and adjust teaching strategies based on student progress
- Implement the school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support framework
- Maintain required records and prepare reports on students and activities
- Deliver grade-level social-emotional learning curriculum
- Encourage parent and community involvement
- Participate in professional learning opportunities
- Mentor peers, as applicable
- Contribute to campus culture through extracurricular activities

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- California state Multiple or Single Subject teaching credential or intern credential
- English Learner Authorization as required by the state of California
- Demonstrated mastery of classroom management, planning, assessment, and instructional practice
- Proficiency with various technologies and teaching tools
- Bilingual ability preferred but not required
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in person at instructional facilities in Kern County, with some travel to other work sites
