About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, test and operate software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases, including robots, AGVs and other (semi-)automated manufacturing equipment.
- Work in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-premises), managing complex software deployments at scale.
- Bring a software-operations mindset to monitor, maintain and improve software availability, including reliable updates, low latency and operational efficiency.
- Apply and extend your experience in PLC or robot programming to help the team transition existing solutions to a fully flexible Software-Defined Manufacturing process.
- Serve as a bridge between digital product delivery and physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring alignment and integration.
- Help define, monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other key KPIs such as OEE for critical systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- You are an experienced software engineer — preferably with a background in manufacturing or logistics systems, PLC or robot programming, or software operations in a smart factory.
- You possess practical experience in several key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines (including quality assurance), and scaling.
- You have operated and supported large-scale software systems in cloud and non-cloud environments (on-premises), or PLC and robot systems in a manufacturing or logistics facility.
- You have worked in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing — understanding the commercial impact of system downtime.
- You are proficient with most of the following technologies: Kotlin / Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Linux, PostgreSQL; Python / Bash is a plus; OPC-UA / PLC (e.g. TIA) / robot programming (e.g. KRL).
- You bring Cloud Operations experience.
- Experience with Azure is a bonus.
- You are familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems.
- You have experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs.
- You are willing to travel to our manufacturing site in Richen when needed and to locations within Germany and Austria for in-person team events.
