About the role
- Conduct on-site energy audits for residential and commercial properties.
- Perform blower door tests, duct leakage tests, and infrared thermography to assess building envelope efficiency.
- Evaluate HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, appliances, and windows for energy performance.
- Identify areas for energy savings, efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy integration.
- Provide detailed reports with recommendations for energy improvements and cost savings.
- Educate homeowners, builders, and business owners on energy efficiency best practices.
- Ensure compliance with local energy codes, RESNET, HERS, and other efficiency standards.
- Use GreenWorks' reporting software to document audit findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Certification(s) preferred: RESNET HERS Rater, BPI Building Analyst, LEED Green Associate, or similar.
- Experience conducting energy audits, home performance assessments, or sustainability consulting.
- Knowledge of building science, HVAC systems, insulation, and air sealing techniques.
- Strong understanding of Texas energy codes and efficiency rebate programs.
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Reliable transportation for travel to job sites within the assigned region.
- Must have liability insurance as an independent contractor.
- Ability to pass a background check (if required by clients).
