About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and operate a standardized, cloud-based data lake in Azure
  • Design and implement cloud architecture in Azure, including networking, IAM, cost management, and governance
  • Provide secure and efficient Python development environments for data and engineering teams
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and system interfaces
  • Establish and further develop an Infrastructure-as-Code foundation using Terraform or Bicep
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Automate recurring infrastructure and operational tasks
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability across all platform components
  • Manage operational information security across the cloud landscape, including identity, secrets, and access reviews
  • Collaborate with the KRITIS/ISO specialist on audit preparation and implementation
  • Contribute to meeting regulatory requirements in the energy sector, particularly KRITIS and NIS2
  • Support the ongoing development of Jira, Confluence, HubSpot, and Microsoft 365
  • Contribute to the department’s strategic direction
  • Assume operational responsibility and technical ownership for Azure, data, and business platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional experience as a Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or IT Engineer with a clear focus on cloud technologies
  • Solid experience with Azure, ideally demonstrated through hands-on projects or certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep) and CI/CD
  • Strong Python skills for infrastructure, automation, and data-related use cases
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or Synapse—or a clear willingness to learn them
  • Familiarity with modern collaboration tools such as Atlassian products and Microsoft 365
  • German at C1/C2 level
  • Good command of English, at least B2 level
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new topics
  • Independent, diligent, and proactive working style
  • Pragmatic and down-to-earth approach
  • Clear communication, including with colleagues without a deep technical background
  • Nice to have: Experience in scale-up or startup environments involving greenfield platform development
  • Nice to have: Exposure to KRITIS, NIS2, or ISO 27001, particularly in the energy sector
  • Nice to have: Container/Kubernetes experience
