About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement algorithms to process and analyze sensor data from sources like LiDAR, images, and satellite imagery, extracting meaningful information about urban trees and environments.
- Create algorithms to transform sensor data into actionable insights, such as reconstructing 3D models, segmenting spatial data, or detecting environmental features.
- Develop techniques for preprocessing raw sensor data, including noise filtering, sampling, and quantization, to ensure data quality and usability.
- Optimize algorithms for performance and scalability to handle large, complex datasets efficiently.
- Integrate data from multiple sensor types to enhance the accuracy and detail of digital representations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data processing tools, methods, and pipelines.
- Stay informed about advancements in sensor data processing, computer vision, and geospatial analysis to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with experience using libraries such as numpy, pandas, open3d, and opencv for data processing and analysis.
- Solid foundation in algorithms and data structures, with a focus on solving complex, real-world problems.
- Practical knowledge of processing sensor data (e.g., LiDAR point clouds, image data).
- Familiarity with computer vision techniques, such as feature detection, segmentation, or 3D reconstruction, applied to real-world data.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a creative approach to tackling technical challenges.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and machine learning specialists.
- Excellent skills in conveying technical concepts clearly and concisely.
