About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create, plan, and deliver daily online instruction for assigned courses and grade levels
  • Facilitate live virtual classes and guide student learning activities
  • Create an online classroom environment promoting curiosity, respect, and academic excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid teaching certification preferred
  • 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in elementary or lower school education
  • Experience working with classical education or liberal arts curriculum preferred
  • Experience teaching in online or blended learning environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching practices for elementary-aged students
  • Ability to engage young learners and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
  • Comfort using online learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital classroom tools
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies for the virtual learning environment
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and families
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Strong commitment to the mission and philosophy of Great Hearts and a passion for classical education
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must complete Texas and Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance and background check; additional states may be required
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements
  • Ability to perform standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching
  • May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately
