About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and provide specially designed instruction to students receiving special education and related services
  • Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Draft and maintain IEPs, Prior Written Notices, and potentially evaluation paperwork in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Plan and facilitate meetings throughout the special education process
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents, staff, and administrative staff regarding student planning and progress
  • Manage the transition of new enrollees eligible for special education and related services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1–2 years of special education experience
  • SPED certification provision or standard, including AZ Mild to Moderate or K-12 Cross-Categorical SPED
  • Certifications such as Moderate/Severe Disabilities K-12 or Intern/Alternative may be accepted
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check
  • Fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements
  • Ability to perform standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching
  • May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds
