About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement communication and engagement plans supporting infrastructure project delivery and best-practice engagement principles
  • Provide strategic engagement advice to project teams, delivery partners, and business stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, community groups, local councils, government agencies, private landowners, and other stakeholders
  • Lead community engagement activities, information sessions, and stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate communications materials across channels and audiences
  • Analyse community feedback to inform decision-making
  • Identify risks to customer and community experience and advocate for positive customer outcomes
  • Contribute to best-practice engagement across the organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering engagement programs for infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of community engagement principles
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion practices
  • Experience working with diverse and hard-to-reach communities
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing content for varied audiences and channels
  • Ability to analyse engagement outcomes, identify risks, and provide strategic advice
  • Qualification in Communications or a related field
  • IAP2 certification highly regarded
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence essential
  • Willingness to travel across the service region
  • Willingness to participate in occasional engagement activities outside standard hours and sometimes on weekends
  • Ability to complete pre-employment reference checks, medical assessments, and a national police check
  • Verification of working rights in Australia
