About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and supervise project costing and scheduling.
  • Enable project teams to monitor and evaluate project performance.
  • Partner with project team members to implement Graycor's performance monitoring system and other required monitoring systems.
  • Review and develop project schedules from plans and specifications.
  • Incorporate budgeted dollars, quantities, labor resources, and subcontractor and vendor schedules.
  • Continuously update schedules to reflect progress, delays, actual starts and finishes, remaining durations, quantities installed, labor hours, costs, and drawing, design, or delivery revisions.
  • Develop and maintain the project cost code framework, schedule WPS, and cost- and resource-loaded schedule.
  • Develop management reports, including cash flow, hourly shutdown and outage schedules, weekly quantity reports, SPI, CPI, EV, and manpower reports.
  • Advise the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding subcontractor and vendor performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant construction experience, preferably within the heavy industrial sector.
  • Prior experience tracking field progress.
  • Proven ability generating SPI, CPI, EV, and manpower reports.
  • Experience reviewing contractor programs for compliance with contract documents.
  • Understanding and valuing industry and safety standards.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask with urgency while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with managers, co-workers, subcontractors, and construction craft employees.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills in scheduling, cost software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at project sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel home every other weekend.
