About the role
- Operate 100+ multi-cloud streaming clusters and database infrastructure
- Diagnose cross-layer failure modes
- Design safe upgrade and rollout strategies
- Improve observability, automation, and operational ergonomics
- Partner with database and platform teams
- Serve as a primary escalation point for incidents
- Mentor and support engineers
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- Experience with high-throughput streaming systems
- Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience leading complex technical efforts
- Ability to influence technical direction
- Strong understanding of distributed systems failure modes
- Proficiency in at least one systems-oriented language (Go preferred)
- Working knowledge of Linux internals, networking, cloud storage
- Experience participating in blameless incident response
