  • Title and Subtitle
  • Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences)
  • One-Paragraph Summary Provide a concise overview of the book’s purpose, scope, structure, and tone.
  • Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections) Who this book is specifically for Their stage or season of life The particular struggles, questions, or longings they are experiencing Why this book matters to them now Tip: Specificity is essential. Broad descriptions such as “Christian women” or “believers” are not sufficient.
  • Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years) Identify 2–3 comparable books published within the last five years and explain: How your book overlaps with each one How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis
  • Author Bio Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this book, including: Education Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience Subject-matter expertise Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate) Previous publishing or writing experience
  • Detailed Chapter Outline Provide a working table of contents that includes: Chapter titles The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book
  • Front and Back Matter (Optional) Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.).
  • Timeline and Specifications Include: Current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.) Estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words) Anticipated manuscript delivery date
  • Other Book Ideas (Optional) If you have additional book concepts that may be a fit for The Daily Grace Co., please include a brief description of each idea (1–3 sentences per concept). While these ideas will not be considered part of the current proposal, they may be considered for future publishing opportunities.
  • Sample Material The complete book introduction Two fully written sample chapters representative of the final manuscript
