About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide environmental engineering and design guidance to Department staff and partner government agencies
Represent the Department on committees and multidisciplinary project teams
Work collaboratively across regions to address unique environmental challenges
Lead complex environmental initiatives, including the management of contaminated sites
Provide technical expertise on regulated building materials
Lead environmental assessments, screenings, and permitting activities
Coordinate research and analysis on environmental engineering technologies and practices
Engage and manage external contractors and consultants

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Bachelor of Engineering
Minimum of six (6) years of related experience managing complex environmental risks
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
Membership in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards
Demonstrated experience managing complex environmental projects
Ability to work in both office and field environments
