About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead AI-first adoption by leveraging AI tools and prompt engineering to automate work and improve time-to-value
Question requirements to identify what is actually needed and ensure the right products are built
Collaborate with an AI-first product development team to build and scale innovative enterprise financial products
Own products end to end, designing systems, satisfying customers, and validating assumptions with data-driven insights
Lead products from concept to deployment through continuous testing, learning, and improvement
Manage the full product lifecycle: prioritise, define, design, build, test, run, and own products

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 10 years of backend engineering experience, particularly Java
Strong hands-on AWS experience, including scalable system design and deployment using EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
Experience with agentic coding and AI-driven or automated coding systems
Strong experience designing and implementing system architectures, defining technical solutions, and making high-level design decisions
Proficiency with Claude Code or another autonomous-capable coding agent
Product-focused mindset with ownership of product success and customer outcomes
Ability to communicate directly with customers or subject matter experts to understand needs
Creative and analytical problem-solving skills balancing technical decisions with business outcomes
Adaptability in an evolving environment and ability to move quickly
Collaborative team-player mindset with readiness to lead initiatives
Fluent in English
Experience with automated testing frameworks
Willingness and ability to learn new domains and technologies
Experience building simple apps with AI tools, experimenting with MCP servers, and familiarity with prompt/context engineering
Nice to have: understanding of System Thinking
Nice to have: experience with Behaviour Driven Development
Nice to have: avid reader
