About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate case(s) and negotiate with a focus on settlement
- Attend and monitor litigated claims including but not limited to conferences, mediations, and trials
- Occasionally make settlement calls on pre-suit claims
- Conduct in-depth file reviews, evaluating both damages and liability

Requirements
What you’ll need- Law Degree preferred, Bachelors required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar role
- Knowledge of NY court system
- Knowledgeable as to premises liability law
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Highly skilled in trial preparation
- Good knowledge of the law, settlement values, judges, adversaries, defense firms, venues
- Knowledge of New York State Insurance Department regulations
