About the role

  • Hands on experience with industry leaders in wireless gateways Netgear, Linksys and Technicolor
  • Testing complex Wi-Fi connection management and/or complex telecommunication systems
  • Analysing Wi-Fi data performance (802.11 n/ac) with aid of industrially recognized traffic generators (iperf, IXIA Veriwave products etc.)
  • Spectrum analysis to identify and troubleshoot Wi-Fi related issues (interference, channel saturation) using WiSPY, iNSSIDER
  • Wireless packet analysis and software feature verification using Wireshark
  • Hands on experience with test management and issue tracking tools (Jira, HP ALM)
  • Understanding and navigating complex smart gateway systems for purposes related but not limited to; gathering traces, upgrading systems, analyzing debug prints, invoking features and gathering radio value objects via dmcli
  • Working knowledge of various gateway features; VLANs, speed, port forwarding/triggering, DMZ, IPv4/v6 Addressing, IP Subnetting, DHCP, Radius, remote management, SNMP
  • Analyzing issues and communicating with cross-platform dev. teams to resolve the issues
  • Experience on advanced networking features; port forwarding/triggering, DMZ, remote management, reserved IP allocation
  • Through understanding of Wi-Fi standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and features( WPS (Push+Pin), DFS, DCS, mac-filtering, radio/ssid on/off features)
  • Analyzing Rate vs Range/Orientation results and Wi-Fi stats (RSSI per radio chain, Tx/Rx PHY rates, Noise floor)
  • Working with anechoic chambers and Omni-directional antennae to assess Wi-Fi performance and features

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree Computers or Computers Information Systems or Telecommunication
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in the field of networking and wifi testing
