About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, analyze, and evaluate complex secured and unsecured commercial loan applications
- Perform risk analysis, spreading, risk rating, and loan structuring for underwriters
- Ensure transactions are accurate, complete, and compliant
- Analyze credit history, cash flow, tax returns, and financial statements to assess repayment capacity
- Complete financial projections and prepare clear credit analyses and reports
- Receive and screen initial loan application packages and assist with loan sizing and structure
- Identify unanswered questions and engage loan officers or applicants for clarification
- Make recommendations and assist with commercial lending product, policy, and procedure updates
- Train personnel on lending policies and procedures
- Provide work direction, feedback, and training to less experienced staff
- Mentor others in credit analysis and department procedures
- Assist with loan origination analysis or credit review analysis as organizational needs require
- Maintain relationships with members and internal/external originators
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successful completion of High School curriculum required
- Associates degree preferred
- Minimum 4 years of commercial credit analysis experience using a loan origination system
- Experience assisting in production of loan credit memos explaining credit facility risks and mitigants
- Ability to spread and interpret tax returns and financial statements of varying quality
- Ability to complete financial projections
- Thorough understanding of commercial underwriting standards, risk philosophy, credit culture, and market conditions
- Knowledge of BSA, AML, TILA, HMDA, GLBA, Fair Lending, and other applicable credit union compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply logical reasoning
- Knowledge of commercial credit analysis across multiple commercial lending types
- Proficiency analyzing business cash flow, rental income cash flow, UCA cash flow, and global cash flow
- Understanding of regional lending market conditions and collateral values
- Understanding of automated loan origination systems
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft programs and other computer operations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a fast-paced, flexible, production-oriented department
- High degree of integrity and sound judgment for fair lending recommendations
- No licenses or certifications required

Comp & perks- Salary of $77,500.00–$90,000.00 annually
