About the role
- Assisting attorneys in preparing civil litigation matters for trial
- Work with clients to receive discovery documents such as medical records, billing records, employment files, video footage from accident, etc
- Review discovery materials – analyze and summarize medical records
- Draft motions and discovery responses as well as other documents
- Draft and send out Subpoenas to providers and records retrieval companies
- Set up independent medical examinations (IMEs)
- Prepare for trial
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the legal field; experience in insurance defense preferred but not required
- Experience in civil litigation is a plus, but not required
- Paralegal certificate or other related degree is a plus but not required
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
