Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and test applications using React JS technologies across development, QA, and production
Understand current system infrastructure, security needs, network considerations, and development methodologies
Integrate designs and wireframes into application code
Write JavaScript application interface code and translate designs into quality code
Optimize components across browsers and devices
Develop responsive web-based user interfaces and support the organization’s application ecosystem
Write clean, scalable ReactJS code
Refactor, debug, test, and deploy applications and systems
Improve existing Java applications and systems
Develop documentation throughout the development lifecycle
Provide technical support to teams, District agencies, personnel, and stakeholders
Ensure technologies use current, stable, compliant architecture meeting enterprise standards
Collaborate with internal teams on software design and architecture
Monitor and report performance utilization of assigned technologies
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues and failures
Manage problem tickets, escalations, tasks, and out-of-cycle requests
Advise customers on effective use of systems and determine courses of action for business needs
Identify broader issues across integrated technologies and communicate appropriately
Coordinate application developer activities when required
Identify product best practices and standards
Support and design industry-specific applications integrating with statewide systems
Interact with executive-level business users and technical experts
Function as a niche technical subject matter expert when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
10 years of web development experience
3 years working with React.js
3 years working with ReactJS, RXJS, NodeJS, and ES6/5
3 years of REDUX architecture experience
3 years working with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Angular 2.0
Knowledge of JavaScript object model, DOM manipulation, event handlers, data structures, algorithms, JSX, Babel, REST/RPC APIs, and Agile methodologies
Experience with RedHat OpenShift container-based application development
Experience with Tomcat, Jetty, or Undertow application servers
Ability to develop, test, deploy, refactor, and debug applications
Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues
Ability to provide technical support and consultative expertise
Ability to interact with executive-level business users and technical experts
