About the role
- Reports to Head of Purchasing
- Responsible for the product category
- Liaison with executive management, import, assortment controlling and other staff functions
- Procurement negotiations and annual review meetings with (inter)national suppliers
- Point of contact for DIY stores
- Support and challenge colleagues to promote their development
- Development and implementation of presentation concepts
- Development of efficient print and online marketing strategies
- Responsible for assortment development, pricing and logistical parameters
Requirements
- Degree in business administration or comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in retail, particularly in purchasing and assortment planning
- Clear understanding of space development/merchandising within the defined assortment area
- Excellent knowledge of domestic and international sourcing markets
- Analytical and conceptual approach to work
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player with commercial/sales strength
- Willingness to travel
- Proficient communication skills in English
- Confident user of common MS Office applications
