About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and optimize Stored Procedures in SQL.
Participate in migrating SAS processes to Azure Synapse.
Interpret business rules embedded in SAS code.
Validate data consistency and equivalence between legacy and modern environments.
Perform data quality analyses, reconciliation, and identify inconsistencies.
Collaborate with technical and business teams throughout the modernization process.
Contribute to performance improvements and optimization of implemented solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
Development of Stored Procedures.
Experience with Views, CTEs, Window Functions, temporary tables, and transactions.
Knowledge of relational data modeling.
Experience handling large volumes of data.
Performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
Experience with ETL processes.
Experience in data validation and data quality (Data Quality).
Analytical ability to interpret business rules and investigate discrepancies between databases.
Knowledge of SAS (DATA STEP and PROC SQL) to interpret legacy code (nice to have).
Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (nice to have).
Knowledge of Git and code versioning (nice to have).
Experience with PySpark and Spark SQL (nice to have).
Experience in Data Warehouse migration, ETL, or data platform modernization projects (nice to have).
Experience using AI tools to support development, such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT (nice to have).
