Grants Manager
Global Initiative against Transnational Organized CrimeGrants Manager for GI-TOC managing diverse grant portfolios and ensuring compliance. Supporting programme teams through the full grant cycle with a focus on effective management and donor relations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with team leaders and administrative units to support the effective implementation of projects and programmes across the full grant lifecycle.
- Review and support the development of grant proposals, budgets, tenders and contracts to ensure they are well designed, cost-effective and compliant with donor requirements and internal standards.
- Monitor grant compliance and delivery risks, and advise teams on mitigation measures to ensure timely and high-quality implementation.
- Assist with the management of project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring accurate resource allocation, expenditure tracking and coordination with finance colleagues.
- Review contracts for consultants, vendors and implementing partners in line with organizational policies and donor rules.
- Support donor reporting and audit readiness by ensuring that narrative, financial and contractual documentation is complete, accurate and maintained by the project team appropriately.
- Coordinate consortium partnerships and help ensure clear communication, strong collaboration and compliance across partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, particularly donor counterparts and implementing partners, on grant management matters.
- Contribute to the strengthening of internal systems, tools and processes for programme and grants management across the organization.
- Promote strong programme management practice within the team through guidance, problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in grants, programme or project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing international grants and ensuring donor compliance; experience with Norway and US funding instruments is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing complex budgets and financial processes, including forecasting, expenditure monitoring and resource planning.
- Strong understanding of donor contracting, reporting and audit requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, international development, project management or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively with remote colleagues across different locations and time zones, with strong relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and reliable, with the ability to manage priorities independently.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
