About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the Reliability and Improvement team.
  • Lead your team of Engineers to deliver the highest level of technical support for maintenance on site.
  • Provide leadership, direction and strategy to the site Operational and Capital expenditure programs.
  • Support installations, modifications and upgrades while aligning to site protocols.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and upkeep of the sites’ engineering standards.
  • Review engineering and maintenance systems and processes onsite.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Clear accountability to drive safety first and foremost, leading the way with hazard identification, risk management and safety inspections.
  • Mentor, guide and coach your team to deliver against performance targets and provide motivation to create an excellent working environment.
  • Maintain a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values.
  • Provide technical guidance for maintenance activities to provide a high standard.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) – SAP preferred.
  • Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Previous experience performing the same or similar role in the industry.
  • Sound knowledge of risk identification processes, safe work practices and relevant Australian standards.
  • High levels of resourcefulness, versatility, initiative, personal organisation, and diplomacy.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and be willing to obtain and hold Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM) accountabilities in the future.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, along with proven front-line leadership capabilities and extensive experience within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
