About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operation, further development and securing of multiple Kubernetes clusters running on virtual machines
Responsibility for Linux-based systems: physical servers, VMs and NAS systems
Building and maintaining a stable, maintainable and auditable platform landscape
Automation of operational, deployment and maintenance processes (Bash is required; additional tools welcome)
Establishing security-by-design: system hardening
Access control concepts
Secrets management
Logging, monitoring and traceability
Technical implementation of requirements from security & compliance: translating standards into concrete technical controls
Building audit-ready structures, documentation and evidence
Incident handling in the infrastructure context (2nd level), including analysis and sustainable remediation
Continuous improvement of the stability, security and transparency of our systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of experience operating complex Linux infrastructures
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production
Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking and storage
Very good Bash skills and a clear automation mindset
Solid knowledge of IT security, e.g., system and network hardening
Access control and identity concepts
Logging, monitoring and incident response
Experience or strong interest in security and compliance topics such as C5, ISO 27018 or comparable standards
Ability to implement security and compliance requirements in a pragmatic and technically robust manner
Structured, responsible working style — you design systems to withstand audits
Enjoy building things cleanly from the ground up and operating them long-term
Very good German language skills
