Lead and participate in development and introduction of new products from concept to production release.
Perform thermal analysis and simulation, design and documentation, testing and characterization of products.
Create part definitions, modules, and assemblies as 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks; produce tolerance stack-ups and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
Lead and design mechanical components and detailed housing assemblies for highly integrated, mixed-technology systems incorporating RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling and cooling.
Maintain existing CAD designs and execute ECOs when required; organize and participate in assembly of prototypes.
Participate in environmental, vibration and shock testing, and in product introduction to production.
Prepare accessory documentation: assembly instructions, test instructions, user manuals, maintenance instructions.
Design, document and assemble test structures and jigs needed for production, test and measurements during R&D phase.
Requirements
B.Sc. in mechanical engineering.
Experience using 3D SolidWorks.
Good English language skills allowing preparation of documents and participation in live technical meetings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure.
Willingness/ability to travel on independent business trips.
Strong mechanical engineering skills and team leadership experience (role expects team leader).
Experience with preparation of technical documentation for production according to ISO standards (advantage).
Experience working with PLM systems for documentation control (advantage).
Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and simulation using SolidWorks Simulation Premium (static, vibration, shock) (advantage).
Knowledge and experience in thermal and CFD analysis using SolidWorks Flow Simulation (advantage).
Experience with MIL-STD and RTCA standards (MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-8591, MIL-STD-8856, MIL-STD1763) (advantage).
Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout and PCBA mechanical design (advantage).
Knowledge of and experience selecting materials, manufacturing methods, and surface treatments for mechanical components (advantage).
M.Sc. in mechanical engineering (optional/advantage).
