About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and maintain systems for monitoring local, state, and federal legislation, budget proposals, funding opportunities, and policy developments related to community violence intervention
  • Develop and disseminate summaries, briefing materials, updates, and other resources that support field education efforts
  • Synthesize information from a variety of sources to identify key trends, opportunities, and developments relevant to GCVI's priorities and initiatives
  • Lead the development and coordination of reports, presentations, fact sheets, toolkits, and other materials that advance organizational goals and support the broader CVI field
  • Manage the planning and execution of meetings, webinars, convenings, trainings, and partner-facing events, including logistics, materials development, stakeholder coordination, and follow-up
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with coalition members, practitioners, policymakers, funders, researchers, and other stakeholders across the CVI ecosystem, including participating in, facilitating and supporting coalition-based initiatives and collaborative efforts as appropriate.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams with internal teams to support the successful implementation of GCVI initiatives and organizational priorities
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and reporting systems to ensure continuity, accountability, and effective knowledge management across the organization
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, strengthen project management systems, and increase the effectiveness of GCVI programs and operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public policy, legislative analysis, research, program coordination, data management, or related work, preferably connected to violence prevention, public health, criminal justice, or community violence intervention
  • Strong understanding of legislative processes and ability to read, interpret, and summarize statutory, regulatory, and budget language
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, trackers, and data management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with complex information and large datasets
  • Commitment to the mission of violence prevention and community intervention
